Membership Information

Membership in the Southern California Grotto is open to anyone and there are no pre-requisites, though membership in the National Speleological Society is strongly encouraged. Southern California Grotto membership is $15 per year, and begins each year on January 1. After June 1 membership is half price. A trial membership is available for $3 and is valid for two months.

Membership in the Southern California Grotto includes activities and benefits such as:

 • Access to the Grotto's Yahoo! group
 • Participation in Grotto caving trips
 • Participation in technical practice sessions
 • Use or rental of Grotto equipment
 • Access to the Grotto library, including books and exchange publications
 • Grotto sponsored social events and other activities

Grotto members may also elect to join the Western Region of the National Speleological Society for an additional $10. Western Region membership includes the regional publication California Caver, which is published quarterly.
